Farm Equipment in Field

Rob Bouman @Dreamstime.com

AgrAbility was founded in 1990 as a result of the Farm Bill. In 1991, eight State/Regional Agriculture Projects were begun. Today there are 21 SRAP's in 22 states, with more in the planning stages.

AgrAbility does not provide funding for adaptive devices or other equipment needed by individual agriculture workers. Those in need of this type of equipment should contact their state's Vocational Rehabilitation office.

The mission of AgrAbility.org is as follows:

  • Develops service capacity through innovative educational programs designed to advance individual capabilities, adapt new technologies, and deliver program content through appropriate educational venues
  • Encourages networking to facilitate information sharing, the provision of services, and funding from individuals or organizations not employed by AgrAbility
  • Provides direct services to agricultural workers through individual consultations and other means
