An update to my previous blog about Jon Hammar, a U.S. Marine who was chained to his bed in a Mexican prison. Mr. Hammar has been released and is now back in the United States. His family is grateful for all of the assistance they received in securing the release of their son. He was released at 8:30PM yesterday evening, and Jon's father will be driving him to their home in Florida to be reunited with the rest of the family in time for Christmas.
Mr. Hammar was granted a release on the grounds that he did not intend to commit a crime with the gun he had been trying to register in Mexico at the time of his arrest.
